Credit Suisse to cut Asian eq­ui­ties jobs

HONG KONG: Credit Suisse Group AG was cut­ting at least half a dozen eq­ui­ties jobs in Hong Kong and Tokyo, as the bank con­tin­ued to rein in costs, said sources. Among those leav­ing were Matt Pe­cot, head of prime ser­vices for the Asia-Pa­cific re­gion, and Jamie White, a di­rec­tor for sales trad­ing, they said. Credit Suisse also let go four eq­ui­ties an­a­lysts in Tokyo. They in­cluded Shinya Ya­mada, who cov­ered steel stocks, and Masami Sawato, which cov­ered chem­i­cals and other in­dus­tries, said the peo­ple.
