Malaysia, Qatar to boost info exchange
KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia will enhance its intelligence-sharing with Qatar to combat threats of terrorism.
Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein said both countries had expressed concerns over the threat of terrorism, particularly from the Islamic State.
“To combat the threats our countries are facing, we will increase the sharing of military intelligence information,” Hishammuddin said yesterday after signing a letter of intent (LOI) with Qatar State for Defence Minister Dr Khalid Mohamed Al-Atiyyah.
