Probe into crash that killed 8 cy­clists done

JOHOR BARU: Po­lice in­ves­ti­ga­tions into the ac­ci­dent that killed eight teenage cy­clists last month has been com­pleted.

The in­ves­ti­ga­tion pa­pers have been handed over to the state deputy pub­lic pros­e­cu­tor’s of­fice, which will de­ter­mine whether the 22-year-old woman who drove the Nis­san Almera in the in­ci­dent would be charged.

Johor Baru south dis­trict po­lice chief As­sis­tant Com­mis­sioner Su­laiman Salleh said the in­ves­ti­ga­tion pa­pers were be­ing re­viewed by DPPs tasked with the case.

Lawyer S.K. Song, who is rep­re­sent­ing the woman in the case, said the RM5,000-bail im­posed on his client when she was re­leased from po­lice cus­tody had been ex­tended un­til his client had to go to court again.
