Se­lan­gor shine with six gold medals

SE­LAN­GOR ex­celled in the Malaysian Schools Sports Coun­cil (MSSM) rhyth­mic gym­nas­tics se­nior cat­e­gory (18-years and be­low) yes­ter­day, col­lect­ing six gold medals on day two in Bukit Jalil.

In the all-round in­di­vid­ual com­pe­ti­tion, Jess Lim Yen Xin and Phoebe Ng Xiao Yan took the gold and silver for Se­lan­gor while Kuala Lumpur's Da­nia Iman­ina Ka­marul Bahrin won the bronze.

Jess recorded 13.200-points in the hoops, 12.750 in balls and 10.584 in rib­bons for a com­bined to­tal of 36.534 points, just 2.733 ahead of Phoebe at 33.801.

Jess and Phoebe, joined by Chiam Szi Mei and Lai Yun Han, dom­i­nated the team com­pe­ti­tion with a huge win of 90.835 points while KL came in sec­ond (73.719) and Malacca third with 64.118.

Se­lan­gor are lead­ing the medal tally with six gold, four silver and one bronze medal with KL sec­ond af­ter col­lect­ing two silver and three bronze while Malacca are third with two bronze.

In the ju­nior cat­e­gory (15-years and be­low), KL lead the medal tally with six gold, four silver and one bronze as Se­lan­gor trail with two silver and three bronze medals.

Perak are third with two bronze medals.

The pre-ju­nior cat­e­gory has KL lead­ing the medal tally with five gold, two silver and one bronze medal.

Se­lan­gor are sec­ond with one gold, four silver and two bronze medals while Pa­hang are third with one bronze medal. Farah Azharie
