Only 3 datukships in ruler’s birthday honours list
JOHOR BARU: Three datukships will be awarded in conjunction with Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar’s 59th birthday this year.
T h i s w a s a nnounced by the Johor Council of the Royal Court president Datuk Abdul Rahim Ramli, who confirmed that three datukships would be among 100 titles and medals that would be conferred on recipients in an investiture at Istana Besar tomorrow. He said one person would receive The Most Exalted Order of Sultan Ibrahim Johor First Class Dato’ Sri Mulia Sultan Ibrahim Johor (SMIJ), which carries the title of “Datuk”.
Two other people will receive the The Most Exalted Order of Sultan Ibrahim Johor Second Class (Commander) Dato Mulia Sultan Ibrahim Johor (DMIJ), which also carries the title of “Datuk”.
The Johor Council of the Royal Court had issued an embargo and will only release the names of the recipients tomorrow.
“The highest award that will be given during the investiture ceremony will be the Most Esteemed Order of the Royal Family Second Class (DK II) and it will be given to a member of royalty,” he said at Bangunan Sultan Ibrahim in Bukit Timbalan here yesterday.
He said altogether there would be 100 people who would be conferred with the honorary awards and medals during the investiture.
