Only 3 datuk­ships in ruler’s birth­day honours list

JO­HOR BARU: Three datuk­ships will be awarded in con­junc­tion with Sul­tan of Jo­hor Sul­tan Ibrahim Sul­tan Iskandar’s 59th birth­day this year.

T h i s w a s a nnounced by the Jo­hor Coun­cil of the Royal Court pres­i­dent Datuk Ab­dul Rahim Ramli, who con­firmed that three datuk­ships would be among 100 ti­tles and medals that would be con­ferred on re­cip­i­ents in an in­vesti­ture at Is­tana Be­sar tomorrow. He said one per­son would re­ceive The Most Ex­alted Or­der of Sul­tan Ibrahim Jo­hor First Class Dato’ Sri Mu­lia Sul­tan Ibrahim Jo­hor (SMIJ), which car­ries the ti­tle of “Datuk”.

Two other peo­ple will re­ceive the The Most Ex­alted Or­der of Sul­tan Ibrahim Jo­hor Se­cond Class (Com­man­der) Dato Mu­lia Sul­tan Ibrahim Jo­hor (DMIJ), which also car­ries the ti­tle of “Datuk”.

The Jo­hor Coun­cil of the Royal Court had is­sued an em­bargo and will only re­lease the names of the re­cip­i­ents tomorrow.

“The high­est award that will be given dur­ing the in­vesti­ture cer­e­mony will be the Most Es­teemed Or­der of the Royal Fam­ily Se­cond Class (DK II) and it will be given to a mem­ber of roy­alty,” he said at Ban­gu­nan Sul­tan Ibrahim in Bukit Tim­balan here yes­ter­day.

He said al­to­gether there would be 100 peo­ple who would be con­ferred with the hon­orary awards and medals dur­ing the in­vesti­ture.
