Thai woman ac­cuses im­mi­gra­tion of­fi­cial of forc­ing her to per­form oral sex as well

ATHAI masseuse claimed she was raped and forced to per­form oral sex by an im­mi­gra­tion of­fi­cer at the Machap Um­boo de­ten­tion cen­tre in Alor Ga­jah here ear­lier this month.

The 32-year-old woman had later alerted her 28-year-old sis­ter, who was also de­tained with three oth­ers af­ter im­mi­gra­tion of­fi­cers raided a mas­sage cen­tre in Me­lakaRaya on March 7, about the in­ci­dent.

“The of­fi­cer not only forced her to mas­sage him, but also stroked her gen­i­tals be­fore rap­ing her with­out wear­ing a con­dom,” the younger sis­ter said, adding the im­mi­gra­tion of­fi­cer also forced her to per­form oral sex.

She was speak­ing at a press con­fer­ence at a restau­rant in Jalan Banda Kaba in Banda Hilir here, yes­ter­day.

The younger sis­ter, who is mar­ried to a lo­cal, was re­leased on Mon­day af­ter she was found to pos­sess valid travel doc­u­ments and a mar­riage cer­tifi­cate. Her 34year-old hus­band, who is from Serem­ban, was also present at the press con­fer­ence.

Fu­ri­ous over the sex­ual as­sault against her sis­ter, the house­wife came for­ward to lodge the re­port at the Me­laka Ten­gah po­lice sta­tion.

“On March 7, I came to the mas­sage cen­tre to look for my sis­ter with my other fe­male friend from Serem­ban.

“But at 11pm, im­mi­gra­tion of­fi­cers raided the cen­tre and ar­rested us, along with three other fe­male work­ers there,” she said.

The fol­low­ing day, she said the five for­eign­ers, aged be­tween 28 and 32, were brought to the Machap Um­boo im­mi­gra­tion de­pot.

“The next day, each of us had our state­ments recorded, with my sis­ter be­ing the first to en­ter the room. It took 15 min­utes for her to record her state­ments. When she came out, she looked fu­ri­ous be­fore she told me she was sex­u­ally as­saulted,” she said.

Alor Ga­jah po­lice chief Su­per­in­ten­dent A. As­madi Ab­dul Aziz con­firmed the po­lice re­port. State Im­mi­gra­tion di­rec­tor Mohd Fauzi Ab­dul­lah, how­ever, de­clined to com­ment, adding that the al­le­ga­tion was be­ing in­ves­ti­gated.
