TNB: Riau project still on drawing board
KUALA LUMPUR: Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) said yesterday a power project in Sumatra, Indonesia, with state-owned PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara is still on the drawing board.
TNB said they had neither formed a joint-venture entity nor discussed in details on the project.
“In addition, there has never been any financial commitment made so far for the proposed Riau-Malacca interconnection, which is an offshoot of the Asean Grid,” it said in a statement.
NST Business yesterday reported that the estimated US$1.6 billion (RM7.09 billion) project could now be delayed by three years.
