TNB: Riau project still on draw­ing board

KUALA LUMPUR: Te­naga Na­sional Bhd (TNB) said yes­ter­day a power project in Su­ma­tra, In­done­sia, with state-owned PT Perusa­haan Listrik Ne­gara is still on the draw­ing board.

TNB said they had nei­ther formed a joint-ven­ture en­tity nor dis­cussed in de­tails on the project.

“In ad­di­tion, there has never been any fi­nan­cial com­mit­ment made so far for the pro­posed Riau-Malacca in­ter­con­nec­tion, which is an off­shoot of the Asean Grid,” it said in a state­ment.

NST Busi­ness yes­ter­day re­ported that the es­ti­mated US$1.6 bil­lion (RM7.09 bil­lion) project could now be de­layed by three years.
