Zarah Syed Ah­mad, In­for­ma­tion Depart­ment di­rec­tor­gen­eral Datuk Ibrahim Ab­dul Rah­man and dis­trict of­fi­cer cum La­had Datu 1Malaysia Com­mu­nity Com­mit­tee chair­man Iman Ali.

Nas­run called on the peo­ple to sup­port the gov­ern­ment in its ini­tia­tive to pro­tect the state’s sovereignty. He said the La­had Datu dis­trict, par­tic­u­larly Felda Sa­ha­bat, was safe with the pres­ence of the base camp and the set­tlers’ well­be­ing had im­proved.

“It is my hope that the peo­ple of Felda Sa­ha­bat will learn from such a tragedy and con­tinue to strengthen unity.”

Nas­run handed aid to 30 Tan­jung Labian vil­lagers whose houses were de­stroyed dur­ing the in­tru­sion.

Ear­lier, Shar­i­fah said the 1Malaysia Com­mu­nity Com­mi­tee was set up to al­low the peo­ple to en­gage the gov­ern­ment and un­der­stand its poli­cies.

“We can eas­ily ob­tain news and in­for­ma­tion via so­cial me­dia. Hence, it is the role of the In­for­ma­tion Depart­ment to go to the ground to chan­nel (ver­i­fied) in­for­ma­tion.”

She said there were 1,500 such com­mit­tees in the coun­try, three of which were in Ban­dar La­had Datu, Kam­pung Jawa and Kam­pung Zon Segama here.
