Na­tional elite team will next head for Kaza­khstan Open

FABIAN PETER fabian.mark@nst.com.my sup­posed to go to South Korea for train­ing but will in­stead travel to Kaza­khstan for the Kaza­khstan Open on April 22-24.

“The Korean coach, who was sup­posed to train our ex­po­nents, feels they need more ex­po­sure.

“There­fore we have changed our plans and will head to Kaza­khstan next.”

Malaysia have not won a gold at the Sea Games since the 2009 edi­tion in Laos, when Che Chew Chan came out tops in the women’s be­low 80kg cat­e­gory.

Yong Jin Kun won the best player award for bag­ging a gold and a sil­ver in the team events.
