Azroy, Amirul to lead Team Yuzy
MALAYSIAN Underbone class riders Azroy Hakeem Anuar and Mohd Amirul Ariff Musa have been confirmed for Team Yuzy Honda Vietnam Racing team for this weekend’s FIM Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) in Johor.
Azroy and Amirul are trained by former GP rider Shahrol Yuzy Ahmad Zaini, whose coaching credits include World SuperSports rider Zulfahmi Khairuddin and two-time Asian champion Mohd Zaqhwan Zaidi, as he works with Team Yuzy Honda Vietnam Racing for a third consecutive year.
“We have been working with Honda Vietnam over the past two years, but this season we have increased the level of our partnership,” Shahrol Yuzy said.
Joining Azroy and Amirul is ARRC newcomer Cao Viet Nam while the Production 250cc class will be represented by Vietnam’s Bui Duy Thong.
Meanwhile, Maju Motor have elected to field two teenagers, Mohd Akid Aziz and Mohd Haziq Mohd Fairues, in the Underbone 150cc category.
Akid, 19, is the defending champion in the Malaysian Cub Prix CP115 class while 16-year-old Haziq is one of the youngest riders on the Asian Underbone grid and has managed to net two podium finishes with one being a win in the ARRC’s UB130 category last year.
“Akid and Haziq performed to our expectations and it is time for them to be exposed to the Asian series,” said Team Maju principal Yong Ying Hoe.
“Even though the championship is introducing the 150cc class this season, the team feel that it will be good exposure for these two young riders.”
