Three charged for in­sider trad­ing

KUALA LUMPUR: Two se­nior man­agers and a free­lance con­sul­tant were charged in the Ses­sions Court with seven counts of in­sider trad­ing in­volv­ing 145,000 units of shares. In­vest­ment bank se­nior man­ager Ewe Lay Peng is ac­cused of com­mu­ni­cat­ing to Lim Bun Hwa, 41 in­for­ma­tion not gen­er­ally and pub­licly avail­able, which upon be­com­ing avail­able would have a ma­te­rial ef­fect on the value of Paci­fic­mas Bhd shares. Ewe was charged un­der 188(3)(b) of the Cap­i­tal Mar­kets and Ser­vices Act 2007 (Act 671). Lim was charged un­der Sec­tion 370(c) of the Act. Boon Cheng was charged un­der Sec­tion 188(2)(a) of the Act.
