Sul­tan Ibrahim in driver’s seat for 16th time

JO­HOR BARU: Sul­tan of Jo­hor Sul­tan Ibrahim Sul­tan Iskan­dar, who ob­tained a Class 26 lo­co­mo­tive li­cence al­most seven years ago, drove a Kere­tapi Tanah Me­layu Bhd (KTM) train to the state cap­i­tal here from Kuala Lumpur on Wed­nes­day.

He left Kuala Lumpur in the six­coach Tan­jung Ku­pang 26108 train at 9.55am and ar­rived at JB Sen­tral at 3.45pm.

Sul­tan Ibrahim, who wore a green batik shirt, was ac­com­pa­nied by the royal fam­ily on the 296km jour­ney.

The train made a stop in Segamat.

It was Sul­tan Ibrahim’s 16th trip as a lo­co­mo­tive driver. He ob­tained his li­cence on June 28, 2010.

He is the first ruler to ob­tain the li­cence, which was recorded in the Malaysia Book of Records. He also drove a train dur­ing the Kem­bara Mahkota Jo­hor in 2010.
