On the first and sec­ond counts, In­tan was charged with keep­ing two males and a fe­male Asian Palm Civet, while on the third and fourth counts, she was ac­cused of keep­ing a male and six fe­male Dusky Leaf Mon­keys, which are pro­tected species un­der the first sched­ule of the act, with­out li­cence.

She al­legedly com­mit­ted the of­fences at her house at No. 6, Jalan Am­pang Kiri, Desa Pasi­fik at 12.30pm on March 28.

The charge un­der Sec­tion 60(1)(a) of the act for keep­ing the male species car­ries a max­i­mum fine of RM50,000 or a jail term of not more than two years, or both, if con­victed.
