Hafizh revs up for Jerez
MALAYSIAN Moto2 rider Hafizh Syahrin is convinced he has found the right setup for his Kalex 2017 bike and is targeting a top five finish at the Spanish GP this weekend.
“My confidence level is on a high after finding the best setup in such a short amount of time.
“We will apply the experience and the knowledge we gained from here (Albacete) to the race in Jerez (this week).”
The Petronas Raceline Malaysia rider’s confidence was boosted following his win at the Moto2 European Championship in the first leg of the FIM CEV Repsol International Championship at Albacete Circuit in Spain last Sunday.
“Through hard work and the help of my teammates, I managed to find the best setup in such a short time.”
The 23-year-old believes he has found the rhythm that he’s been searching in his goal to move up to MotoGP next season.
Hafizh is 14th overall on the Moto2 standings after collecting 11 points from three races.
With 15 races remaining in the season, Hafizh knows every race is vital from the fourth leg in Jerez on May 5-7.
Joining Hafizh in Jerez will be Idemitsu Honda Team Asia’s Khairul Idham Pawi in Moto2 and the boys from SIC Racing Team, Adam Norrodin and Ayumu Sasaki in Moto3.
