Hafizh revs up for Jerez

MALAYSIAN Moto2 rider Hafizh Syahrin is con­vinced he has found the right setup for his Kalex 2017 bike and is tar­get­ing a top five fin­ish at the Span­ish GP this week­end.

“My con­fi­dence level is on a high af­ter find­ing the best setup in such a short amount of time.

“We will ap­ply the ex­pe­ri­ence and the knowl­edge we gained from here (Al­bacete) to the race in Jerez (this week).”

The Petronas Race­line Malaysia rider’s con­fi­dence was boosted fol­low­ing his win at the Moto2 Euro­pean Cham­pi­onship in the first leg of the FIM CEV Rep­sol In­ter­na­tional Cham­pi­onship at Al­bacete Cir­cuit in Spain last Sun­day.

“Through hard work and the help of my team­mates, I man­aged to find the best setup in such a short time.”

The 23-year-old be­lieves he has found the rhythm that he’s been search­ing in his goal to move up to Mo­toGP next sea­son.

Hafizh is 14th over­all on the Moto2 stand­ings af­ter col­lect­ing 11 points from three races.

With 15 races re­main­ing in the sea­son, Hafizh knows ev­ery race is vi­tal from the fourth leg in Jerez on May 5-7.

Join­ing Hafizh in Jerez will be Idemitsu Honda Team Asia’s Khairul Id­ham Pawi in Moto2 and the boys from SIC Rac­ing Team, Adam Nor­rodin and Ayumu Sasaki in Moto3.
