ZINC PARTITION BLOCKS WALKWAY

New Straits Times - - News -

A WALKWAY at Jalan 1/64D, Chow Kit, is for pedestrians but it has since been blocked by zinc partitions.

SHANI said this has forced pedestrians to walk along the busy road.

Pedestrians have to take a peek around the partitions in case of oncoming traffic before they can step out into the road.

“Even motorists find it difficult to drive as they have to be careful not to knock into pedestrians.

“Sometimes, people suddenly come out from behind the partition.

“The partition was put up without an adequate assessment on the risks to public safety,” Shani said.

“There is no reason to cover the pavement.”
