Use federal roads, minister urges motorists
MELAKA: Motorists are encouraged to use federal roads, which have various facilities and attractions.
Works Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said the FT Roadpedia Roadshow Programme, Southern Zone, was an effort by the ministry to attract more motorists to use federal roads as their route of choice.
“The public has the perception that private highways are the main thoroughfares, when they are actually alternative routes.
“Private highways are the routes of choice for motorists who want to get to their destinations fast,” he said after a stopover at Masjid Batang Tiga as part of the roadshow programme near here yesterday.
The FT Roadpedia Roadshow Programme, Southern Zone, began yesterday and will end tomorrow. It involves 688km through Selangor, Negri Sembilan, Melaka and Johor.
Fadillah said federal roads were the right choice for motorists who wanted a relaxing drive given the recreational areas and stalls along the way.
