Use fed­eral roads, min­is­ter urges mo­torists

ME­LAKA: Mo­torists are en­cour­aged to use fed­eral roads, which have var­i­ous fa­cil­i­ties and at­trac­tions.

Works Min­is­ter Datuk Seri Fadil­lah Yu­sof said the FT Road­pe­dia Road­show Pro­gramme, South­ern Zone, was an ef­fort by the min­istry to at­tract more mo­torists to use fed­eral roads as their route of choice.

“The pub­lic has the per­cep­tion that pri­vate high­ways are the main thor­ough­fares, when they are ac­tu­ally al­ter­na­tive routes.

“Pri­vate high­ways are the routes of choice for mo­torists who want to get to their des­ti­na­tions fast,” he said af­ter a stopover at Masjid Batang Tiga as part of the road­show pro­gramme near here yes­ter­day.

The FT Road­pe­dia Road­show Pro­gramme, South­ern Zone, be­gan yes­ter­day and will end to­mor­row. It in­volves 688km through Se­lan­gor, Ne­gri Sem­bi­lan, Me­laka and Jo­hor.

Fadil­lah said fed­eral roads were the right choice for mo­torists who wanted a re­lax­ing drive given the recre­ational ar­eas and stalls along the way.
