THE Johor-leg of the New Straits Times Press’ MyRumah Property Showcase 2017 held at Komtar JBCC here ended on a high note yesterday, with sales of more than RM16 million.
The three-day showcase was visited by more than 15,000 people and property buyers, who thronged the event to buy new houses and commercial units offered by 11 property developers.
The highlight for visitors was an opportunity to listen to and engage with 17 property experts, comprising industry professionals, property agents, service provider company representatives and property gurus.
NSTP Advertisement general manager (agency, direct and special features advertisement) Roche Chew said the turnout had surpassed NSTP’s initial target of 15,000.
He said more than RM16 million worth of sales were recorded as of 8pm yesterday, with the final figure being tallied still towards the end of the exhibition at 10pm. Properties totalling RM16.38 million were sold by 11 developers.
“This is a vast increase from last year’s event, which was also held at the same venue and recorded RM10 million worth of sales.
“This year, the residential homes sold were in the Iskandar Malaysia region,” said Chew.
He said this year’s showcase had taken into account the feedback from visitors who came last year.
“This year, we gave visitors a more in-depth look into the availability of applied technology convergence services for properties gaining traction.”
Andaman Group, LePro System Berhad and Essenso were the official content partners while Grab, the ride-sharing service provider, is a support partner for the event.
This year, non-developer exhibitors such as Cuckoo, Essenso and AsiaHai also recorded generous sales for their products.
The MyRumah showcase will make its way to Alor Star in Kedah this August for its maiden showcase there.
Nor Azila Basri, 34, from Skudai, said this was her second visit to the showcase after visiting the first one last year.
“I think this year’s showcase is better as there are more homerelated products featured by exhibitors and also great deals thrown in by developers for house buyers in some of their affordable homes packages.
“I might book a unit later,” she told the New Straits Times yesterday.
