National team on right track for Sea Games
THE national cycling team are set to pedal to a golden Sea Games outing in August after a successful training camp.
That was Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin’s response when asked to comment on the preparation for the Sea Games.
“We hope to retain gold medal we won in the men’s road race and men’s criterium by Mohd Harrif Saleh in the Sea Games in Singapore two years ago.
“With Azizulhasni Awang, who has tasted success in recent competitions leading the cycling troop, it will encourage further the others to perform at their best in the Sea Games,” said Khairy during the Permatang Pauh Fellowship Ride yesterday.
Khairy also said that the sponsorship for the Sea Games has hit the 90 per cent mark. By Mohamed Basyir
