Na­tional team on right track for Sea Games

THE na­tional cy­cling team are set to pedal to a golden Sea Games out­ing in Au­gust af­ter a suc­cess­ful train­ing camp.

That was Sports Min­is­ter Khairy Ja­malud­din’s re­sponse when asked to com­ment on the prepa­ra­tion for the Sea Games.

“We hope to re­tain gold medal we won in the men’s road race and men’s cri­terium by Mohd Har­rif Saleh in the Sea Games in Sin­ga­pore two years ago.

“With Az­izul­hasni Awang, who has tasted suc­cess in re­cent com­pe­ti­tions lead­ing the cy­cling troop, it will en­cour­age fur­ther the oth­ers to per­form at their best in the Sea Games,” said Khairy dur­ing the Permatang Pauh Fel­low­ship Ride yes­ter­day.

Khairy also said that the spon­sor­ship for the Sea Games has hit the 90 per cent mark. By Mo­hamed Basyir
