Adam, 18, was among the list of five riders not classified while his Japanese teammate Ayumu Sasaki finished 15th, just above the points collection line.
Ayumu was 14.062 seconds behind winner Spaniard Aron Canet at 41:25.706s, for his first win of the season for Canet’s team Estrella Galicia.
