Bernama launches commemorative stamps
KUALA LUMPUR: Bernama general manager Datuk Zulkefli Salleh alongside its editor-inchief Datuk Zakaria Abdul Wahab launched commemorative stamps at the agency’s headquarters here yesterday to mark its golden jubilee celebrations. Bernama, or the Malaysian National News Agency began operations in a bungalow with some 20 staff in 1967 and today operates from its headquarters off Jalan Tun Razak with more than 1,000 staff.
The agency has planned a Golden Jubilee Appreciation dinner on May 22 as a token for its clients, staff and former employees. Invitations to Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak were sent out with the newly minted stamps after its launch. The stamps, which are sold in sheets of 20 are available and priced at RM30 at its headquarters.
