Pink Bowl Lovers emerge champions at SportsUnite-BCWA Unity Carnival
TEAM Pink Bowl Lovers were the big winners in the recent SportsUnite-Breast Cancer Welfare Association (BCWA) Inter-team Unity Bowling Carnival.
Pink Bowl Lovers — represented by Margeret Doraisamy, Siti Nurzulaika and Nasrin Alie — emerged champions with a combined S. KUGANESHWAARY shone at the recent 7th Negri Sembilan Hayashi-ha Schools Open Karate Championships at Raja Melewar Teachers Education Institute (IPGKRM).
The 10-year-old from SJKT Ladang Senawang defeated Vervinar Murali of New Life Centre in a keenly contested girls’ 9-10 years Under-30kg kumite final.
Prior to this meet, Kuganeshwaary score of 1,578 pinfalls.
Pink Warriors took second place with 1,414 pinfalls with Happy Bowlers third with 1,379.
Syivia Lim Poh’s 182 pinfalls saw her walk away with the women’s hi-game title while Ahmad Nazri (155) won the men’s award.
The fifth edition of the carnival was held at Sunway Mega Lanes with a participation of 140 breast cancer survivors, their family members and friends.
Antabax was the main sponsor of the carnival.
True to the spirit of the carnival of promoting unity through sports, all teams comprised bowlers of at least two races. The top 10 teams received trophies, coach and secretary of the NS Hayashi-ha Karate Association said: “The turnout of more than 330 exponents from 30 primary and secondary schools in Negri Sembilan is far better than last year’s edition.
“We have been organising the meet for the past seven years with the state education department (JPNS) and Education Ministry.” S Solomon Samuel medals and Antabax hampers.
BCWA president Ranjit Kaur Mandy Lee, senior brand manager of Lam Soon-Antabax, presented the prizes to the winners.
