Portal helps you verify news

New Straits Times - - Opinion -

TECHNOLOGY in telecommunications is booming and information is at our fingertips.

The convenience of social media applications like WhatsApp and Facebook allows inaccurate or false news to be spread easily.

Many are quick to spread unverified news. We want to be the first to share before checking if it is true or false.

I am impressed by the efforts of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission in developing the sebenarnya.my portal to stamp out false news.

The portal allows the public to check and verify the news they received before sharing them.

We should be wary of unverified news, especially those we see online.

Check the sources to verify its authenticity, and the sebenarnya.my portal is the perfect platform for that.

As the tagline for the portal goes: “tidak pasti, jangan kongsi” — if you are unsure, don’t share.
