BURSA ENDS SLIGHTLY HIGHER

BURSA Malaysia ended marginally higher on gains in se­lect heavy­weights.

The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) added 0.48 of-a-point to close at 1,775.87 from Thurs­day’s 1,775.39. It moved be­tween 1,773.15 and 1,778.64 through­out the day, af­ter open­ing 1.54 points higher at 1,776.93.

On the broader mar­ket, losers out­paced gain­ers 514 to 425, with 369 coun­ters un­changed, 453 un­traded and 19 oth­ers sus­pended. Vol­ume fell to 2.70 bil­lion units val­ued at RM2.17 bil­lion, from 3.55 bil­lion units val­ued at RM3.47 bil­lion on Thurs­day.

Among heavy­weights, May­bank gained seven sen to RM9.38, TNB fell two sen to RM13.90 and Pub­lic Bank rose two sen to RM19.98, while Sime Darby was flat at RM9.33.

As for ac­tives, Netx shed one sen at 8.5 sen, Glotec lost half-asen to six sen while AT re­cov­ered half-a-sen to five sen. Ber­nama
