More transparent enforcement from next year to deter misconduct, says Bank Negara

THE central bank wants to strengthen “character” in the banking community by deterring misconduct among banking professionals.
Beginning Jan 1, 2018, it will implement more transparent enforcement.
“A strengthened transparency framework for our enforcement will also be introduced as an added deterrence against misconduct,” said Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) governor Datuk Seri Muhammad Ibrahim in his keynote address at the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers’ 20th graduation and awards ceremony yesterday.
