More trans­par­ent en­force­ment from next year to de­ter mis­con­duct, says Bank Ne­gara

THE cen­tral bank wants to strengthen “char­ac­ter” in the bank­ing com­mu­nity by de­ter­ring mis­con­duct among bank­ing pro­fes­sion­als.

Be­gin­ning Jan 1, 2018, it will im­ple­ment more trans­par­ent en­force­ment.

“A strength­ened trans­parency frame­work for our en­force­ment will also be in­tro­duced as an added de­ter­rence against mis­con­duct,” said Bank Ne­gara Malaysia (BNM) gov­er­nor Datuk Seri Muham­mad Ibrahim in his key­note ad­dress at the Asian In­sti­tute of Char­tered Bankers’ 20th grad­u­a­tion and awards cer­e­mony yes­ter­day.
