Arul Kanda still 1MDB CEO, in­volved in TRX pro­ject

BEI­JING: Arul Kanda Kan­dasamy is still 1Malaysia Devel­op­ment Bhd (1MDB) chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer and is in­volved in the devel­op­ment of the Tun Razak Ex­change (TRX).

Prime Min­is­ter Datuk Seri Na­jib Razak said he wanted to clar­ify Arul Kanda’s po­si­tion due to the var­i­ous ru­mours in the mar­ket.

“Arul Kanda re­mains 1MDB CEO and is also in­volved in the TRX devel­op­ment,” he said.

Na­jib also noted Arul Kanda’s ef­forts be­hind the ra­tio­nal­i­sa­tion of 1MDB.

“I have full con­fi­dence in Arul Kanda, as he has pro­vided good lead­er­ship for the ra­tio­nal­i­sa­tion of 1MDB,” he told mem­bers of the Malaysian me­dia af­ter at­tend­ing the Belt and Road Fo­rum for In­ter­na­tional Co­op­er­a­tion in Bei­jing yes­ter­day.
