‘Bribery’ video being probed
ALOR STAR: The Kedah Malaysian Border Security Agency (Aksem) has initiated an investigation into a video recording of its personnel demanding bribes from foreign workers at the Malaysia-Thai border checkpoint in Bukit Kayu Hitam.
Aksem commander Abdul Latif Abdul Rahman said his side would not compromise should the investigation prove that the claim was true.
“I have seen the video and the personnel was speaking with a northern dialect, but we are still probing.”
In the 1-minute 54-second video, a personnel in Aksem uniform was recorded asking RM10 each from Thai workers travelling in a car at the border checkpoint.
