Liverpool slap RM165m price tag on Sakho
LONDON: Liverpool will look to secure a fee in the region of £30 million (RM165 million) for Mamadou Sakho when his Anfield career ends this summer.
The France international defender spent the second half of the current campaign on loan at Crystal Palace and made an impact in helping Sam Allardyce’s side avoid relegation.
His season ended prematurely when he suffered a knee injury against Tottenham last month.
Sakho remained at Selhurst Park to undergo treatment, in the hope he would be fit for the final game at Manchester United on Sunday, and Palace would like to keep him in London for the foreseeable future. West Brom wanted him last August, too.
He will continue to assess his options, as other clubs have expressed an interest.
Southampton, who are expected to lose Virgil Van Dijk when the window opens, enquired about Sakho in January while Napoli have monitored his position.
Liverpool expect there will be more clubs who will contact them
