Malaysia send strong squad to Asian Youth meet

HAM­MER thrower Grace Wong and na­tional schools cham­pion sprinter Aiedel Saadon and Azreen Nabila Alias lead the Malaysian charge for medals at the Asian Youth Ath­let­ics Cham­pi­onships in Bangkok start­ing to­mor­row.

Two years ago in Doha, Malaysia sent just three ath­letes, be­cause the meet clashed with the Malaysian Schools Cham­pi­onships, but the team still re­turned with two bronze medals through 400m run­ners Rus­sel Nasir Taib and Shereen Sam­son Vellabouy.

Send­ing nine boys and nine girls this time, the Malaysian ath­letes should be striv­ing to im­prove on the two-medal haul of 2015.
