Uber en­gi­neer faces sack in Waymo case

SAN FRANCISCO: Uber Tech­nolo­gies has threat­ened to fire an en­gi­neer ac­cused by Al­pha­bet’s Waymo unit of steal­ing con­fi­den­tial doc­u­ments in a high pro­file case be­tween the two com­pa­nies. Waymo sued ride ser­vices com­pany al­leg­ing that for­mer Waymo ex­ec­u­tive An­thony Le­vandowski down­loaded con­fi­den­tial doc­u­ments be­fore leav­ing to join Uber. The case hinges on Waymo’s al­le­ga­tions that the in­for­ma­tion Le­vandowski took made its way into Uber’s sen­sor tech­nol­ogy for self-driv­ing cars.
