US judge dismisses suit by ‘clock boy’

WASH­ING­TON: A court in Texas has dismissed a law­suit by the fam­ily of a Mus­lim teen, who was in­vited to the White House by Barack Obama af­ter con­struct­ing a clock that po­lice mis­took for a bomb. Ahmed Mo­hamed, who was 14 at the time, be­came an on­line sen­sa­tion af­ter be­ing hand­cuffed for bring­ing his “in­ven­tion”, a cir­cuit board wired to a dig­i­tal dis­play, to school in the Texas city of Irv­ing. He was charged with mak­ing a “hoax bomb”, though the rap was dropped.
