Top guns give thumbs up
The inaugural C-Cycle Challenge has been given the thumbs up by many, including top guns who participated in yesterday’s event.
National Heart Institute chief executive officer Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Azhari Yakub, who joined the Fun Ride, said the NST had done a great job.
“It has brought together cyclists of different backgrounds to promote a healthy lifestyle.”
CIMB chief executive officer Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, who finished the 35km Fun Ride in one hour, said the event was a great place for cyclists to meet and exchange tips.
“I applaud the NST for organising such an event, with a medical team and support cars, as well as patrols following us through the route. I’ll join next year and aim for the podium.”
The Mole.my adviser Datuk Ahirudin Attan, who cycled with his daughter, Ahirine Ahirudin, agreed that the event was a success.
“The event was well organised. There was a cyclist who had a minor accident, and the medical team was quick to act.”
Ahirudin said he was happy to finish 160km in five hours and 41 minutes. He said the event should be held annually.
Other industry leaders who participated were GCH Retail Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Pierre Olivier Deplanck, Social Security Organisation (Socso) deputy chief executive (corporate) Datin Azlaily Abd Rahman, Socso board member Datuk Dr Sudin Haron and Bank Muamalat chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Redza Shah Abdul Wahid.
