The drizzle did not stop cyclists from completing their rides.

Many who joined the 35km Fun Ride arrived at the finishing line as early as 9.15am.

Peter Tan, 57, said the event was all about having fun and bonding with one another while exercising.

“We’re avid cyclists and join many cycling events as a group. We want to promote a healthy lifestyle among the younger generation.”

Arjunaidi Kailan, 52, from Bursa Malaysia team, said the fun ride was to pay tribute to one their club’s founding members, who died of heart failure earlier this month.

At the carnival, people were taking pictures with “superheroes”, such as Spiderman, Hulk and Iron Man.

There were also arcade machines, an inflatable futsal pitch and a juice bike where you can blend your own bicycle-powered juice.

Eco World head of sales and marketing Tiong Siow Yin said the carnival created a sense of community.
