News app will fea­ture ex­clu­sive video news con­tent daily

BA­HASA Malaysia daily Harian Metro added another feather to its cap yes­ter­day, launch­ing a new app called MetroTV, in as­so­ci­a­tion with Me­dia Prima Bhd unit Me­dia Prima Labs (MPLabs).

MetroTV, a news app, will fea­ture daily video news con­tent for sub­scribers.

It will present ex­clu­sive video con­tent fea­tur­ing a wide va­ri­ety of daily news, in­clud­ing hu­man in­ter­est, crime, sports, en­ter­tain­ment, pol­i­tics and semi-doc­u­men­taries.

The launch was held at the Glasshouse in Se­puteh and wit­nessed by about 100 guests and celebri­ties.

Present at the launch were New Straits Times Press chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer Datuk Ab­dul Jalil Hamid, Harian Metro group editor Datuk Mustapa Omar and Me­dia Prima Dig­i­tal chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer Rafiq Razali.

Mustapa said MetroTV would en­able sub­scribers to watch live news cov­er­age.

“MetroTV will fur­ther strengthen the sta­tus of Harian Metro as a pop­u­lar Ba­hasa Malaysia news­pa­per.”

Among the news seg­ments fea­tured on MetroTV are Kal­en­der Je­nayah, Metro@7, Kafe Ahad, Ek­sklusif, HM vi­ral, Suara Maya and user gen­er­ated con­tent (UGC).

The app is avail­able to both iOS and An­droid users.
