Cincai take Under-18 title
TEAM Cincai from Kajang overcame a stiff challenge from Shah Alam side Swing Man to clinch the URMYBRO 3-on-3 Junior Unity Basketball Carnival Under18 title.
Cincai won the final 6-3 to lay their hands on the Datuk Yeoh Choo Hock Challenge Trophy.
In the Under-15 final, MVP Kepong 14 beat Thug Life 8-4 for the title.
The carnival — held for a the second year — saw 48 teams competing at SKJC Kung Min in Kuala Lumpur.
The carnival is in honour of Yeoh Choo Hock, the longest serving secretary general of the Malaysian Amateur Basketball Association.
Yeoh is also highly respected on the international scene as he is a former secretary general of the Asian Basketball Confederation (ABF) and a vice president of the International Basketball Federation.
Now retired, he is still very involved in the game in a honorary position appointed by the ABF as secretary general emeritus, a rare honour in basketball.
The unity carnival — which required teams to consist of a minimum of two races — was organised by SportsUnite and MVP Marketing and Events and cosponsored by Milo, Revive and Molten Basketball.
