Zahid says move will rid the force of black sheep

THE crack­down on en­force­ment of­fi­cers is needed to get rid of cor­rupt per­son­nel. Deputy Prime Min­is­ter Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said without stern ac­tion, the Home Min­istry’s in­tegrity would be tar­nished.

Zahid, who is also home min­is­ter, was draw­ing on the re­cent crack­down on po­lice per­son­nel.

A to­tal of 21 po­lice per­son­nel from Bukit Aman’s Nar­cotics Crim­i­nal In­ves­ti­ga­tion De­part­ment were ar­rested in con­nec­tion with drug syn­di­cates, while nine po­lice per­son­nel and four civil­ians were ar­rested by the Malaysian Anti-Cor­rup­tion Com­mis­sion (MACC) for pro­tect­ing il­le­gal gam­bling dens and mas­sage par­lours.
