Guidebook defines maids’ rights and employers’ responsibilities
PUTRAJAYA: A guidebook on employment of foreign maids was described as an important instrument in advocating the rights of domestic workers and defining the responsibilities of employers.
Titled Guidelines and Tips for Employers of Foreign Domestic Helpers, the guidebook was prepared by the Human Resources Ministry and the International Labour Organisation.
Malaysian Maid Employers Association president Engku Ahmad Fauzi Engku Muhsein welcomed the launch.
Malaysian Association of Foreign Maid Agencies secretarygeneral Lee Cheng Ang said the guide would benefit both employers and maids.
The free guidebook is available on the ministry’s and Department of Labour’s websites.
