Teen found dead with earphones on
MELAKA: A teenage boy, who slept with earphones on while it was connected to his charging mobile phone, was found dead at his bedroom in Taman Merbok, Bukit Baru, here.
The victim was identified as Syamirul Armizie Adenan, 19, who is unemployed.
State Criminal Investigation Department chief Assistant Commissioner Kamaluddin Kassim said Syamirul’s mother, 48, a nurse, went to wake him up at 7am on Friday.
“Not getting any response, the mother used a duplicate key to open her son’s bedroom door and found him motionless on his bed.
“The victim had earphones on, which were connected to a mobile phone that was connected to a power bank.”
Kamaluddin said there were burn injuries on Syamirul’s left shoulder near where the power bank was placed.
“The mother tried to wake him up, but the victim did not respond. She lodged a report at the Bukit Baru police station at 8.10am on Friday.”
He said the victim’s body was sent to Melaka Hospital and the case was classified as sudden death.
Syamirul was last seen entering his bedroom on Thursday at 10pm.
