Navigation app gives real-time info to drivers
The Media Prima Radio Networks (MPRN) has joined Waze for Broadcasters, a navigation application to provide instant traffic information to drivers.
MPRN chief executive officer Seelan Paul said the Waze Complete Traffic Intelligence, was an application which combined historical and real-time traffic information from motorists.
He said MPRN radio stations — Fly FM, Hot FM, One FM and Kool FM — would be among the first to get the breaking news from the roads.
“Their anchors will be the first to report on traffic conditions for listeners,” he said yesterday.
Seelan said MPRN listeners relied on the radio stations to provide the most accurate and latest information on road situations, such as constructions, marathon races, floods and traffic conditions which could affect their travel on major roads during rush hour in the country.
“Waze for Broadcasters allows them to use citizen journalism to shed valuable insights we haven’t had access to previously, to gain a deeper understanding of realtime conditions affecting drivers every day,” he said.
