COP CHARGED WITH CONSORTING WITH GANG
Woman inspector alleged to have committed offence at Beats Club
APOLICEWOMAN was yesterday charged in the magistrate’s court with consorting with organised criminal group Gang 360 Devan two years ago.
Inspector Kushalani Sassie, 31, was alleged to have committed the offence at Beats Club, No 30 Jalan 22a/70a, Desa Sri Hartamas, near here, between March and July 2015. No plea was recorded.
The case will be tried under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 (Sosma).
Deputy public prosecutor Mohd Izhanuddin Alias appeared for the prosecution, while Kushalani was represented by S. Selvam.
Magistrate Siti Radziah Kamaruddin fixe d June 15 for mention.
On May 24, 36 members of Gang 360 Devan claimed trial at the High Court to being part of an organised criminal group.
The suspects, including politician Datuk M. Kalai Arasu, were charged with being involved with an organised crime group at MV Empayer Sdn Bhd, No 1, Jalan Perniagaan Masria 1, Pusat Perniagaan Masria, Batu 9, Cheras, between Jan 1, 2015, and Feb 7 this year.
The men were arrested under Sosma, which does not allow bail.
Their trial has been fixed from July 24 to 28.
