Men of the 1st Suf­folk Reg­i­ment check­ing the iden­ti­fi­ca­tion of a man and his son in Segam­but, Kuala Lumpur, as they en­tered the area which was be­ing cleared of 10,000 peo­ple on July 6, 1951. The peo­ple of Segam­but had been evac­u­ated to the Jin­jang re­set­tle­ment area start­ing from June 26, 1951. The move was to pro­tect them from com­mu­nist at­tacks and to cut off the supply of food and in­for­ma­tion to the com­mu­nists.
