Khairul ap­pointed BIMB CEO

KUALA LUMPUR: BIMB Hold­ings Bhd has ap­pointed cur­rent Bank Is­lam Malaysia Bhd chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer (CEO) Khairul Ka­marudin as its new CEO ef­fec­tive tomorrow.

Khairul was ap­pointed CEO of Bank Is­lam on June 14, re­plac­ing Datuk Seri Zukri Sa­mat who re­tired as BIMB Hold­ings group CEO and Bank Is­lam manag­ing di­rec­tor.

Khairul also holds a di­rec­tor­ship in BIMB In­vest­ment Man­age­ment Bhd.

Quot­ing sources, the Edge Weekly re­ported last month that the board of BIMB had sub­mit­ted Khairul’s name to Bank Ne­gara Malaysia for ap­proval.

Khairul has 20 years of ex­pe­ri­ence in the Malaysian cor­po­rate scene, in­clud­ing stints at Price­wa­ter­house­Coop­ers (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd and Pen­gu­ru­san Dana­harta Na­sional Bhd.

Khairul is a prac­tis­ing mem­ber of the As­so­ci­a­tion of Char­tered Is­lamic Fi­nance Pro­fes­sion­als and holds a bach­e­lor of law from Anglia Univer­sity, the United King­dom.
