Khairul appointed BIMB CEO
KUALA LUMPUR: BIMB Holdings Bhd has appointed current Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd chief executive officer (CEO) Khairul Kamarudin as its new CEO effective tomorrow.
Khairul was appointed CEO of Bank Islam on June 14, replacing Datuk Seri Zukri Samat who retired as BIMB Holdings group CEO and Bank Islam managing director.
Khairul also holds a directorship in BIMB Investment Management Bhd.
Quoting sources, the Edge Weekly reported last month that the board of BIMB had submitted Khairul’s name to Bank Negara Malaysia for approval.
Khairul has 20 years of experience in the Malaysian corporate scene, including stints at PricewaterhouseCoopers (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd and Pengurusan Danaharta Nasional Bhd.
Khairul is a practising member of the Association of Chartered Islamic Finance Professionals and holds a bachelor of law from Anglia University, the United Kingdom.
