MAHB’s air­ports han­dled 11.36m pas­sen­gers last month

MALAYSIA Air­ports Hold­ings Bhd (MAHB) posted a 7.1 per cent pas­sen­ger traf­fic growth at its air­ports to 11.36 mil­lion last month from 10.61 mil­lion a year ago.

In­ter­na­tional traf­fic grew 12.3 per cent year-on-year (y-o-y) to 5.32 mil­lion pas­sen­gers, while do­mes­tic traf­fic im­proved by 2.9 per cent y-o-y to 6.04 mil­lion, it said in a fil­ing to Bursa Malaysia yes­ter­day.

Over­all air­craft move­ments grew 2.1 per cent, with in­ter­na­tional move­ments post­ing a 10.1 per cent rise.

Do­mes­tic traf­fic, how­ever, dropped 2.5 per cent last month from July last year.

MAHB’s net­work of air­ports han­dled 8.5 per cent more pas­sen­ger traf­fic to 124.81 mil­lion last month, the high­est over a 12month pe­riod.

The op­er­a­tor’s 39 air­ports in Malaysia han­dled 8.34 mil­lion pas­sen­gers last month, which was 5.2 per cent more than the 7.93 mil­lion pas­sen­gers recorded in July last year.

The in­ter­na­tional sec­tor saw an 11.7 per cent in­crease to 4.3 mil­lion pas­sen­gers han­dled, ver­sus 3.85 mil­lion pas­sen­gers in July last year.
