NAURAJ Singh Randhawa's bid to qualify for the men's high jump final of the World Championships ended in disappointment in London yesterday.

The 25-year-old from Johor finished joint-20th overall on 2.26 metres in the qualifying round with only the top 12 making tomorrow’s final.

Nauraj missed three attempts at 2.29m which was only a centimetre short of the national record which he set at the Singapore Open, earning him direct qualification for the World Championships.

After clearing 2.17m and 2.22m at the first attempt, Nauraj took two jumps to move past 2.26m before coming unstuck.
