KL Sports City bright­ens up

AS KL2017 draws near, the Sea Games torch fi­nally made its way to the main venue, the KL Sports City.

The last venue on the Torch Run saw more than 200 par­tic­i­pants take part in the run which be­gan at the Ta­man Mi­dah MRT Sta­tion, with the torch car­ried by Ban­dar Tun Razak’s UMNO chief, Datuk Rizal­man Datuk Mokhtar and es­corted by the staff of Telekom Malaysia.

The torch, de­signed and made by Royal Se­lan­gor, was then car­ried by Sports Min­is­ter Khairy Ja­malud­din into the Na­tional Sta­dium, which was packed by those who wanted to catch a glimpse of the torch.

Al­most half of those in at­ten­dance donned the Team Malaysia T-shirt to show their sup­port of the Torch Run as well as to mo­ti­vate na­tional ath­letes.

Olympic Coun­cil of Malaysia pres­i­dent Tunku Imran Tuanku Ja’afar, Malaysia Or­gan­is­ing Com­mit­tee chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer Datuk Seri Zolk­ples Em­bong and TM gen­eral man­ager Ka­maludin Mohsin were also present.

The fi­nal Torch Run be­gan as early as 6.30am yes­ter­day as it made its way through Jalan Per­maisuri, Seko­lah Ke­bangsaan Seri Tasik, Masjid Said­ina Othman Ban­dar Tun Razak, Jalan Per­siaran Me­wah and to the cen­tre of the Na­tional Hockey Sta­dium in Bukit Jalil. Aida Adi­lah Mat
