-

AS KL2017 draws near, the Sea Games torch finally made its way to the main venue, the KL Sports City.

The last venue on the Torch Run saw more than 200 participants take part in the run which began at the Taman Midah MRT Station, with the torch carried by Bandar Tun Razak’s UMNO chief, Datuk Rizalman Datuk Mokhtar and escorted by the staff of Telekom Malaysia.

The torch, designed and made by Royal Selangor, was then carried by Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin into the National Stadium, which was packed by those who wanted to catch a glimpse of the torch.

Almost half of those in attendance donned the Team Malaysia T-shirt to show their support of the Torch Run as well as to motivate national athletes.

Olympic Council of Malaysia president Tunku Imran Tuanku Ja’afar, Malaysia Organising Committee chief executive officer Datuk Seri Zolkples Embong and TM general manager Kamaludin Mohsin were also present.

The final Torch Run began as early as 6.30am yesterday as it made its way through Jalan Permaisuri, Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Tasik, Masjid Saidina Othman Bandar Tun Razak, Jalan Persiaran Mewah and to the centre of the National Hockey Stadium in Bukit Jalil. Aida Adilah Mat
