VANDALS AT WORK

-

AN Automated Enforcement System (AES) camera pole at Km151 on the northbound lane of the North-South Expressway near Pagoh, Johor, has been vandalised.

The photos, shared by Netizens, show the AES pole lying on the ground, with its electrical wires exposed.

A closer look at one of the photographs, also posted on the Community Roda Johor, JB Traffic Report, JB Tracer and Persatuan Bangsa Johor Facebook pages, reveals the AES camera is missing.

An expressway patrol car spotted the vandalised camera pole at 9.35am on Monday.

Facebook user Fifie Aziz said: “Why did they (vandals) do that? I often pass by that northbound stretch, which is known for its many fatal accidents.

“Since the AES was set up, I rarely see accidents occurring on that stretch. Now someone has destroyed the camera.

“I guess some people like accidents to happen,” she posted.

Another FB user, Mohamad Helmee Sham, said he feared it was the act of delinquents , and urged the authorities to look into the case.

“This must have been caused by mischievious youngsters,”

he added.
