Mohd Rani is new KTMB chief

KUALA LUMPUR: Kere­tapi Tanah Me­layu Bhd (KTMB) has ap­pointed Mohd Rani Hisham Sam­sudin as its new chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer (CEO), ef­fec­tive yes­ter­day, said KTMB in a state­ment yes­ter­day.

Mohd Rani re­places Datuk Sarbini Ti­jan, whose con­tract ended on April 30.

His ap­point­ment was made through a let­ter is­sued by the Fi­nance Min­istry, the na­tional rail­way com­pany added.

A grad­u­ate of Northrop Univer­sity in the United States, Mohd Rani was pre­vi­ously the CEO of KL Air­port Ser­vices Sdn Bhd (KLAS) un­der DRB-HICOM Bhd.

KLAS has since been in­jected into Pos Malaysia Bhd and is now known as Pos Avi­a­tion Ser­vices Sdn Bhd.

He started his ca­reer with Kon­tena Na­sional Sdn Bhd, based in Cal­i­for­nia, in 1986.

In 1991, he kick­started his ca­reer in Malaysia with Kon­tena Na­sional Bhd be­fore hold­ings po­si­tions at MISC Bhd, Sime Darby Bhd and sev­eral oth­ers.

Mohd Rani has 31 years of ex­pe­ri­ence in the lo­gis­tics and sup­ply chain seg­ments.
