Beauty Tana vows to run on strong

GLAM­OROUS Tanalak­si­umy Ma­hen­thi­ran Rayer, a fi­nal­ist in Miss Uni­verse Malaysia 2017, wants to make a name for her­self in ath­let­ics.

The 23-year-old from Pe­nang has big dreams and she hopes to com­pete at the high­est level for Malaysia.

Fondly known as Tana, she is de­ter­mined to make the squads for next year’s Gold Coast Com­mon­wealth Games and In­done­sia Asian Games.

She was part of the quar­tet, also com­pris­ing Fatin Faqi­hah Yu­sof, Nu­rul Faizah Asma Ma­zlan and Shereen Sam­son Val­labouy that won a bronze medal in the women’s 4x400m event at the Kuala Lumpur Sea Games in Au­gust.

“I am now busy with stud­ies, act­ing and com­mu­nity ac­tiv­i­ties. I will not quit ath­let­ics... it is my pas­sion. I have been an ac­tive run­ner since I was 10 years old.

“My goals are to be an es­tab­lished run­ner and also to com­plete my stud­ies at HELP Univer­sity.

“I will try my best to get into the teams for the Com­mon­wealth and Asian Games. I have big dreams,” said Tana, who also wants to take up golf. Mohd Khairie Khalid
