Nazrin Has­san was alone in room en­gulfed in fire

CRA­DLE Fund Sdn Bhd chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer Nazrin Has­san died of smoke in­hala­tion when his house in Mu­tiara Homes here caught fire yes­ter­day.

Se­lan­gor Fire and Res­cue Depart­ment op­er­a­tion deputy direc­tor Mohd Rizal Buang said a dis­tress call was re­ceived at 12.30pm about a fire that in­volved a dou­ble-storey semi-de­tached house in Mu­tiara Homes.

Rizal said a team with 13 fire­men from the Da­mansara fire sta­tion ar­rived at the scene at 12.46pm.

“Upon ar­rival, the team found a room on the sec­ond floor of the house en­gulfed in fire.

“The fire was put un­der con­trol in a minute and a man was found un­con­scious in the room,” he said, adding that the man was pro­nounced dead at the scene.

Dur­ing the in­ci­dent, the vic­tim was alone at the room, while his wife and sons were at the liv­ing room.

The fire depart­ment is in­ves­ti­gat­ing the cause of the fire.
