‘Russia could hack football fans’ devices’

New Straits Times - - WORLD -

WASHINGTON: A top intelligence official warned people going to Russia for the World Cup that their phones and computers could be hacked by Moscow’s cyber spies. William Evanina, director of the National Counterintelligence and Security Centre, said even people who believed they were too unimportant to be hacked could be targeted. He said those planning to take electronic devices should be aware that their data, especially personal information, might be accessed by the Russian government or cyber criminals.
