Aussie gets life for child sex abuse

MANILA: An Australian man has been jailed for the rest of his nat­u­ral life as part of a child sex­ual abuse case that pros­e­cu­tors say he chained vic­tims like dogs. Peter Scully faces an­other trial and dozens more charges, in­clud­ing al­le­ga­tions he made child pornog­ra­phy and mur­dered a girl. He was con­victed on Wed­nes­day of traf­fick­ing and rape. The Ca­gayan de Oro court sen­tenced Scully and his Filip­ina part­ner to life in prison with­out pa­role and fined five mil­lion pe­sos (RM374,500) for traf­fick­ing Filip­ina girls then aged 10 and 12.
